Henry Flagler: The Visionary Behind St. Augustine
Henry Flagler played a transformative role in shaping Florida's history. In the late 19th century, Flagler envisioned St. Augustine as a premier winter retreat for America's elite, leading to the construction of the opulent Ponce de León Hotel in 1888. Built in the Spanish Renaissance style, the hotel set a new standard for luxury. Through the Henry Flagler Collection, Old Town Timber honors his legacy by preserving and repurposing the historic wood that once formed the foundation of his grand vision.

What is Heart Pine?
Heart pine comes from the longleaf pine (Pinus palustris), a slow-growing tree native to the southeastern United States. Unlike standard pine, heart pine is harvested from the tree’s dense, resin-rich core, or “heartwood.” This gives heart pine its signature strength, golden-red hues, and tight grain patterns.
